Design Manager

Job Description: We are looking for a qualified specialist in Design management who will be responsible for preparing, evaluating, and revising design briefs. You will oversee the coordination of all design activities through all stages by tracking the progress against the approved concept, design guidelines, budget, and timelines.

Responsibilities:

• Resolving any technical issues & advice as per design norms & standards
• Review all submittals and ensure full coordination of the design packages.
• Ensure design specifications align with safety standards and governmental regulations
• Manage the preparation of the tender packages until reaching the IFC package & ensure proper communication to the related parties.
• Utilize necessary physical and digital tools & software to enforce the workflow.
• Give hand in drafting projects using both 2D and 3D sketching, as needed.
• Liaise with various professionals and departments to coordinate design details & data, as needed.
• Supporting the construction team technically, and onsite, to allow clear understanding & implementation of the approved design.
• Research and analyze local and international best practices and incorporate functions and new technology into design.
• Helping in materials selection, specification & providing alternatives as per design requirements & budget.

Requirements:

• Track record as a design manager or technical office senior engineer.
• Strong ability to develop design & clear understanding of output/ deliverables in each stage of the design.
• Proven and successful experience creating design reports and documents.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit & SketchUp is preferable. (BIM knowledge is a plus)
• Significantly detail-oriented with the ability to spot and fix potential design flaws.
• Arabic is essential to the role.
