Compliance Officer MLRO

An excellent opportunity is available with a Financial Services Institution within the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) for a Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) to lead on all compliance matters.

Reporting to the Head of UK Compliance and work alongside the Groups’ Compliance team providing support to the Dubai entities which offer financial services you will:

• Support the department for the day-to-day implementation of the compliance monitoring efforts
• Support the Firm’s anti-money laundering efforts
• Adopt and implement the compliance plan to identify and prioritize areas of compliance risk in the firm’s activities based on a risk assessment, siting the impact and probability of regulatory and compliance risk occurring in the business
• Maintain an issue tracking mechanism for all regulatory and compliance incidents identified from Internal/External Audits, Compliance reviews and external regulatory visits
• Keep abreast of related rules, regulations and best practices, assess their impact on the Firm and update the relevant functions accordingly
• Review new client opening documentation ensuring that client files are regularly updated and monitored, conduct expirable documentation checks and detailed due diligence of clients and counterparties, and liaise with clients and counterparties to obtain documentation
• Monitor all aspects of the compliance manual and alert the Head of UK Compliance to breaches

The ideal candidate will have significant regulatory knowledge and experience with regards to financial markets, be familiar with DFSA rules and requirements, and be able to implement the Group’s Compliance policies, governance and controls. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, together with the ability to work as part of a team, with a real drive to add value to the firm.
