How to attract top talent

modern-building

When you're faced with a pile of CVs, it can be tough to spot the genuine top performers. However, some people who may be great employees may not be that good at drafting a good CV.

Top performers generally will show consistency and achievement throughout their lives: be it excelling in their career, education/vocation, hobbies or sporting pursuits. This can usually be gleaned by looking through a candidate's all-round track record.

In attracting these types of individuals, you can often rely on anecdotal evidence - tell them about success stories of people who have done well with your company

What motivates high performers?

High performers are generally motivated by success. Whether it be a 'job well done' or gaining the next step up the career ladder, high performers are always looking to improve their working environment. They tend to look for mentors or role models who will help them achieve their career goal.

In attracting these types of individuals, you can often rely on anecdotal evidence - tell them about success stories of people who have done well with your company - or have them meet individuals who has achieved success within your organisation, as part of the interview process.
