Derivatives Middle Office Operations Lead

We have partnered with a leading banking group in Oman that is looking to hire a Derivative Middle Office Operations Lead to join its growing Operations function.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and build the Derivatives Middle Office operating model, processes, controls and team structure from the ground up
- Lead the end-to-end trade lifecycle management of derivative products across FX, rates, credit and equity derivatives, futures and repo
- Establish operating procedures, service standards, KPIs, KRIs, governance frameworks and escalation processes
- Lead the operational implementation and ongoing development of the bank’s derivatives platform
- Oversee trade capture, confirmations, valuations, P&L validation, collateral and margin management, reconciliations and lifecycle events
- Manage operational risk, controls, audit requirements and regulatory obligations
- Partner closely with Front Office, Risk, Finance, IT, Legal and Compliance
- Lead and develop the Derivatives Middle Office team

Key Requirements:

- 10+ years of experience within Derivative Operations / Middle Office in an investment banking environment
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership or deputy leadership capacity
- Strong knowledge across derivative products including FX Forwards & Swaps, NDFs, Futures, TRS, CDS, IRS, Equity Derivatives and Repo
- Strong understanding of ISDA, CSA and GMRA agreements
- Experience building or implementing a Derivatives Middle Office function from scratch would be highly advantageous
- GCC experience and knowledge of Oman/UAE regulatory environments would be beneficial
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management and operational risk & control capabilities
