Technology Risk Associate Director

I’m currently working with a leading financial services organization in Dubai that is looking to hire a Technology Risk Associate Director. A key point on this role: this is not a technical IT or hands-on cybersecurity position. The focus is much more on risk, regulation, governance, policy and stakeholder management around technology and innovation. You’ll lead a team and work closely with senior management, Boards, regulators and other industry stakeholders.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team covering technology and innovation risk.
• Provide risk and regulatory guidance on technology-related activities.
• Assess technology, cyber and emerging risks across financial services.
• Contribute to regulatory policies, standards and risk frameworks.
• Work closely with senior management, Boards, regulators and industry stakeholders.
• Monitor developments in technology and financial services and assess their impact.
• Support strategic projects and wider risk initiatives.
• Coach and develop team members and promote a strong risk culture.

Requirements

• 10+ years’ experience in regulatory, compliance or risk management within a financial services regulator or regulated organisation.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a managerial, supervisory or team leadership role.
• Strong experience working with regulators, standard setters, Boards and senior executives.
• Experience in regulatory policy development, standards and policy analysis.
• Good understanding of technology risk, cyber risk and emerging risks within financial services.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to influence, challenge and communicate effectively at senior level.
• Relevant degree in risk, finance, business, technology or a related discipline.
