Employee Relations Specialist

A well-established organisation is looking to appoint an Employee Relations Supervisor to support managers and staff across a range of HR matters. This includes overseeing employee relations cases, leading investigations, and managing certain HR operations such as payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage employee relations cases involving conduct, grievances, attendance, and performance.

  • Provide guidance to managers on HR policies, employment law, and appropriate case handling.

  • Conduct or coordinate formal investigations into workplace issues.

  • Review and sign off payroll changes, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.

  • Monitor and maintain data accuracy within HR systems.

  • Support policy development and implementation.

  • Prepare reports and briefings on casework trends and outcomes.

  • Coach and advise managers to handle employee concerns effectively.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an HR or employee relations role, including case management.

  • Experience supervising staff or leading a small team.

  • Strong working knowledge of employment legislation and HR policies.

  • Experience with payroll processing or oversight.

  • Prior experience in a unionised environment is desirable.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
