Senior Economist / Economic Researcher

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct economic and policy research on key topics affecting Abu Dhabi, the UAE, and regional economies.
• Monitor and analyze macroeconomic indicators, including GDP growth, inflation, labour markets, trade, investment, and fiscal developments.
• Develop economic studies, research papers, policy briefs, and executive reports.
• Evaluate the impact of government policies, regulatory changes, and economic initiatives.
• Support the development of forecasts, economic outlooks, and scenario analyses.
• Analyze sector performance and identify emerging risks, opportunities, and competitiveness trends.
• Collect, interpret, and validate economic data from public and private sources.
• Prepare presentations, briefing notes, and recommendations for senior management and external stakeholders.
• Engage with government entities, public-sector organizations, research institutions, and industry stakeholders to support research initiatives.
• Contribute to publications, economic bulletins, and thought-leadership content.

Requirements

• 5-8 years of experience in economics, economic advisory, public policy, economic consulting, or economic research, preferably within:
• Big Four Economic Advisory teams
• Public-sector consulting firms
• Economic development organizations
• Ministries, government entities, or think tanks
• Economic research institutions
• Strong understanding of:
  • GDP and economic growth
  • Inflation and monetary policy
  • Labour markets and unemployment
  • Trade and investment
  • Fiscal policy and public finance
• Experience producing research reports, policy papers, and executive-level recommendations.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with economic and analytical tools such as STATA, EViews, Python, Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
• Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory.
