IT Infrastructure & Network Security Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Infrastructure & Network Security Engineer to join a leading organisation based in DIFC, Dubai.

This is a hands-on senior engineering position responsible for the design, implementation, security and operational integrity of enterprise infrastructure across multiple regional locations.

The initial appointment will be on a 1-year contract basis, with the potential to transition into a permanent position based on business requirements and performance.

Candidates must currently be based in the UAE.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, deployment and commissioning of infrastructure for new regional offices, including LAN/WAN, WLAN, connectivity, voice, server rooms and perimeter security.
• Own infrastructure projects end-to-end, covering HLD/LLD, BOMs, implementation, migration, cutover, UAT and handover.
• Manage and maintain enterprise routing, switching, wireless, virtualisation, storage, backup and network security infrastructure.
• Administer enterprise firewall environments, with Fortinet FortiGate strongly preferred.
• Design and maintain secure network architectures covering segmentation, VPN, SD-WAN, IDS/IPS, remote access and access control.
• Manage VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter environments and associated datacentre technologies.
• Manage enterprise storage platforms including NetApp ONTAP and HPE MSA.
• Lead infrastructure patching, firmware upgrades, lifecycle management and disaster recovery activities.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions following major incidents.
• Work closely with vendors, telecom providers, systems integrators and regional stakeholders.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, network diagrams, configuration standards and operational runbooks.
• Support vulnerability remediation, audits and security initiatives aligned with relevant regulatory requirements.
• Participate in on-call rotations and scheduled out-of-hours maintenance.

Required Technical Experience

The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience across:

• Cisco networking: Catalyst, VLANs, STP/RSTP, EtherChannel, HSRP/VRRP, OSPF, BGP, VRF and QoS.
• Cisco wireless: WLC/Catalyst 9800, enterprise Wi-Fi, RF design and WPA2/WPA3 Enterprise.
• Enterprise VoIP, SIP and voice VLANs.
• VMware: vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, HA, DRS, vMotion and distributed switching.
• Fortinet: FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiClient EMS and FSSO.
• Network security, VPN, SD-WAN, IDS/IPS, network segmentation and zero-trust principles.
• NetApp ONTAP and HPE MSA storage environments.
• Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and Microsoft 365/Entra ID.
• Backup and disaster recovery platforms, ideally Veeam.
• Network monitoring, packet capture and performance troubleshooting.
• Hybrid cloud infrastructure, ideally Microsoft Azure.

Requirements

• 7–10+ years of enterprise IT infrastructure experience.
• At least 3 years in a senior/lead engineering capacity.
• Proven experience delivering greenfield or major office/datacentre infrastructure projects.
• Experience supporting business-critical or 24/7 environments.
• Experience working across multiple geographic locations.
• Strong documentation, problem-solving and vendor management skills.
• Ability to independently own infrastructure projects from architecture through to operational handover.
• Must currently be based in the UAE.

Certifications

One or more of the following is required:

• CCNP Enterprise or CCNP Security
• VMware VCP-DCV
• Fortinet NSE 4 or above

Additional certifications such as CCIE, Fortinet NSE 7, NetApp NCDA, ITIL, CISSP, CISM or Azure certifications would be advantageous.

Desirable Experience

Experience within commodity trading, energy trading, banking, financial services or another regulated environment would be highly advantageous.

Exposure to trading-floor infrastructure, ETRM environments, market-data connectivity or other business-critical technology environments is also beneficial.
