Manager, Data Governance
Our client is seeking an experienced Data Governance Manager to drive enterprise data governance, quality, architecture, and stewardship initiatives. The role will assess and enhance data management capabilities, establish policies and standards, and partner with business and technology teams to deliver trusted, high-quality data that supports analytics, AI, regulatory compliance, and strategic decision-making. UAE Nationals highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise-wide data governance and data management initiatives.
- Conduct data maturity assessments using recognized frameworks such as DCAM.
- Develop and maintain enterprise data strategy, policies, standards, and operating models.
- Establish and manage Data Governance Councils, Data Stewardship programs, and ownership frameworks.
- Define and implement data quality controls, monitoring processes, and remediation plans.
- Drive metadata management, business glossary, data catalog, and lineage initiatives.
- Collaborate with business and technology teams to align data architecture with organizational objectives.
- Develop roadmaps to improve data management capabilities and measure progress through KPIs and maturity scores.
- Support AI, analytics, and digital transformation programs by ensuring trusted and well-governed data.
- Identify and mitigate data-related risks, including regulatory, privacy, and compliance requirements.
- Establish data management processes across the data lifecycle, from creation through archival and disposal.
- Provide thought leadership and guidance on industry best practices in data management and governance.
- Prepare executive-level presentations, business cases, and progress reports for senior stakeholders.
- Partner with technology teams on data platform, master data management, and data integration initiatives.
- Drive organizational change management and promote a data-driven culture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in Data Management, Data Governance, Data Architecture, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience leading enterprise data governance and transformation programs.

- Data Privacy and Compliance
- Experience conducting data maturity assessments and developing improvement roadmaps.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and executive communication skills.
- Experience working across business and technology functions.
- Experience with data catalog, metadata, and governance platforms.
- Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams in complex organizations.
- Preferred certifications: DCAM Certification and CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional)
- Experience supporting AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics initiatives.
- Consulting or advisory experience in large-scale transformation programs.
- Knowledge of cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Databricks, Snowflake, or Microsoft Fabric.
