Lead Software Engineer - Autonomous Fleet Management Platform

About the Role We are hiring a Lead Engineer for the development of fleet-management platforms supporting autonomous UAV and UxV operations at scale. This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on backend systems, device management, fleet ops, secure provisioning, and OTA software delivery. You will work closely with engineers and end users to build reliable, scalable, and secure operational platforms for managing large fleets of autonomous systems.

Role Summary: Lead the development of software platforms used to manage, monitor, update, and operate fleets of autonomous vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture, design, and development of fleet-management software platforms.
• Build scalable backend services supporting fleet monitoring, telemetry, provisioning, and operational workflows.
• Develop secure OTA update mechanisms and device lifecycle management solutions.
• Deliver user-facing applications and operational tools in collaboration with end users and stakeholders.
• Drive technical decisions, software standards, and platform engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, security, and operations teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across fleet-management initiatives.

Requirements

• MSc preferred / BSc (minimum) in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience in an enterprise R&D environment.
• Experience with autonomous systems, especially UAVs, is a must-have
• Hands-on experience with embedded HW systems is a huge plus
• Proficiency in Go and experience with Rust or C++.
• Front-end and backend development expertise, incl. databases and UI
• Experience developing device-management, fleet-management, IoT, or connected-platform solutions.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, scalability, reliability, and system integration.
• Experience with secure provisioning, OTA updates, and operational platform development.
• Familiarity with modern messaging, communication, or event-driven architectures.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder-management, and communication skills.
