Senior Software Engineer – Product Development

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a Product Development team in Dubai and take ownership of the design, development and delivery of production-grade software products supporting modern mining operations.

This is a highly hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and owning solutions end-to-end — from understanding an ambiguous business requirement and designing the architecture, through to writing and reviewing code, deploying to production, monitoring performance and supporting live systems.

You will work across backend engineering, APIs, real-time data ingestion, telemetry, integrations, cloud infrastructure and DevOps, building software that transforms fleet telemetry, scheduling inputs and operational data into reliable and high-performing products.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Translate product requirements and complex business problems into clear technical specifications and scalable solutions.
• Design and build backend services, APIs and real-time data ingestion pipelines.
• Develop and maintain integrations with on-vehicle, telemetry and third-party systems, including appropriate handling of failures, retries and back-pressure.
• Own features throughout the full software development lifecycle — from technical design and estimation through to deployment, monitoring and ongoing production support.
• Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code with strong automated test coverage.
• Conduct code reviews and help establish high standards for code quality, security, reliability and maintainability.
• Identify technical risks, legacy constraints and architectural debt, and develop practical remediation plans.
• Optimise application and database performance and resolve production issues through root-cause analysis.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and support automated, reliable software releases.
• Implement observability across applications and services, including logging, metrics, tracing and alerting.
• Manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, with consideration for scalability, reliability and cost.
• Participate in incident response, release management and post-incident improvements.
• Mentor and support less experienced engineers through technical discussions, pairing and code reviews.
• Communicate technical decisions, risks and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including ownership of production systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline — this is a minimum requirement.
• Strong foundations in computer science, including data structures, algorithms, concurrency and system design.
• Strong experience with at least one primary programming language such as Python, C#, Java, Go or similar.
• Strong SQL skills and experience developing REST APIs.
• Experience with technologies such as Kafka, MQTT, cloud platforms, containers and Git.
• Solid understanding of modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, observability and release management.
• Proven experience designing, building and operating production software at scale.
• Experience with real-time, telemetry, IoT or similar data-intensive environments would be highly advantageous.
• Front-end development or data visualisation experience is a plus.
• Exposure to machine learning, data engineering or agentic AI technologies is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• A collaborative and accountable approach, with a strong focus on quality and delivery.
