Consolidation Associate (UAEN)
A leading government-owned organisation in Abu Dhabi is looking for a Consolidation Associate (UAE National) to join their growing team. This role offers you the chance to play a pivotal part in ensuring the integrity and consistency of financial reporting and directly contribute to statutory reporting requirements. You would ideally be an Emirati professional with hands-on experience in consolidation or ACCA/CPA-qualified with foundational knowledge in consolidated reporting.
What you'll do:
As a Consolidation Associate, you will be responsible for driving the accuracy and timeliness of consolidated financial reporting across multiple entities. Your daily activities will involve preparing detailed management reports, generating consolidation models, recording entries, and conducting thorough variance analyses at both business and departmental levels. You will collaborate closely with internal teams as well as external auditors, consultants, contractors, shareholders, and subsidiary companies. Success in this role requires meticulous attention to detail when collecting data from subsidiaries according to strict reporting calendars. You will also play an integral part in supporting audit processes by producing comprehensive financial statements for year-end reviews. Additionally, you will assist management with decision-making activities by providing insightful analysis on spend versus budget. Your commitment to occupational safety and health rules will help foster a safe workplace environment for yourself and others. By actively participating in training programmes and performance management activities, you will continuously enhance your skills while promoting the organisation’s corporate culture and values.
- Execute all assigned tasks efficiently, accurately, and within set timelines to ensure seamless consolidation processes across the Entity.
- Report regularly on overall performance and progress of assigned tasks, providing clear updates to management and stakeholders.
- Handle all external stakeholder-facing transactions in alignment with organisational strategy, resulting in higher satisfaction levels and timely delivery of services.
- Address stakeholder needs, problems, and requests promptly while ensuring the delivery of a world-class experience for all involved parties.
- Assist in preparing monthly management performance reports, quarterly reporting packs, annual financial statements, submissions, and other ad hoc reports as required by the business.
- Maintain and generate consolidation models and entries that enable the aggregation of transmission data along with subsidiary information for consolidated financial statements.
- Record all consolidation entries while obtaining variance explanations from subsidiaries to facilitate timely variance analytics.
- Ensure all data from subsidiaries is collected according to the reporting calendar so that consolidation deliverables are met without delay.
- Work collaboratively with your team to produce group-level financial statements as well as standalone financials for year-end audit purposes.
- Provide support to senior colleagues by adhering to monthly management reporting timelines and assisting with various financial reporting requirements.
What you bring:
To excel, you should bring substantial experience gained over several years working in finance or accounting roles focused on consolidation activities. Your academic background should include at least a Bachelor’s Degree in finance or accounting; additional qualifications are highly regarded. You must possess advanced technical expertise related to IFRS standards as well as UAE-specific regulations governing financial reporting. Your analytical abilities will allow you to perform rigorous variance analyses that inform key business decisions. Experience collaborating with audit teams—both internal and external—is vital for ensuring compliance during year-end reviews. Soft skills such as adaptability, empathy towards stakeholders’ needs, excellent communication abilities, teamwork orientation, and commitment for results are equally important. Your willingness to participate actively in training programmes reflects your dedication to continuous improvement while upholding the organisation’s values of care, innovation, ownership, transparency, and communal spirit.
