A leading semi-government utilities organization in Abu Dhabi is looking for a Financial Reporting Manager to join their Accounts & Reporting department. This pivotal role offers you the opportunity to shape the financial reporting landscape, ensuring compliance with international standards and regulatory requirements while supporting sustainable growth. You would ideally already be based within the UAE or within the GCC region and ready to relocate.

What you'll do:

As Financial Reporting Manager, you will be entrusted with overseeing the end-to-end financial reporting process for the organisation. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve preparing comprehensive financial statements in line with international standards; coordinating critical reporting cycles; managing tax obligations; reviewing complex transactions; developing your team’s capabilities; maintaining strong internal controls; facilitating audits; delivering actionable financial analysis; improving processes for greater efficiency; collaborating across departments; monitoring KPIs; promoting safe working conditions; communicating strategic objectives; conducting performance appraisals; identifying technology needs; and ensuring all staff receive appropriate training. Success in this role requires you to be highly organised, detail-oriented, responsive to stakeholder needs, committed to results-driven outcomes, adept at engaging others through clear communication, and enthusiastic about sharing knowledge within a supportive networked environment.

What you bring:

To excel as Financial Reporting Manager, you will bring a wealth of proven experience from similar roles where you have managed complex financial reporting functions. Your background includes deep familiarity with international accounting standards (IFRS), hands-on involvement in preparing statutory accounts for large organisations or public accounting firms, advanced analytical abilities for interpreting intricate datasets, proficiency with modern ERP systems for streamlined operations, strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments and external partners. You are recognised for your commitment to achieving results through meticulous attention to detail while maintaining transparency in all communications. Your adaptability enables you to stay current on evolving regulations or industry best practices. You are service-oriented—always striving to meet stakeholder expectations—and possess a nurturing approach when developing team members’ skills through coaching or training initiatives. Your dedication ensures that every aspect of the reporting function operates efficiently within a supportive networked environment.

  • Extensive experience (minimum 10 years) in financial reporting or auditing roles within public accounting firms or corporate finance environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field coupled with professional certification such as CA, CPA or ACCA preferred.
  • Exceptional analytical skills enabling you to interpret complex financial data accurately and communicate insights effectively to senior management.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills allowing you to collaborate seamlessly across teams while addressing stakeholder needs responsively.
  • Strong commitment for results demonstrated through timely completion of tasks aligned with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Ability to engage others through transparent communication fostering teamwork within diverse groups.
  • Adaptability in responding positively to changing requirements or new accounting pronouncements impacting financial reporting.
