Financial Reporting Manager

Save job

A leading organisation in Dubai is seeking a Financial Reporting Manager to take full ownership of financial reporting across a multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional group. This role offers you the opportunity to work closely with senior finance leaders and make a significant impact on the accuracy and integrity of financial statements.

What you'll do:

As Financial Reporting Manager in the UAE, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the entire financial reporting function for a diverse group operating across multiple jurisdictions. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve coordinating monthly closes with various teams, reviewing reconciliations to uphold data integrity, preparing comprehensive financial statements independently, executing complex group consolidations including intercompany eliminations and foreign currency translations, managing the Group Chart of Accounts to ensure alignment with evolving business needs, drafting technical accounting papers on specialised topics such as loan instruments or asset retirement obligations, liaising with auditors to facilitate smooth audits through meticulous documentation preparation, handling intercompany reconciliations efficiently to guarantee accurate consolidated results, monitoring tax compliance both locally and internationally using robust trackers for regulatory adherence, supporting management reporting activities by delivering insightful variance analyses that inform decision-making processes. Success in this role requires you to foster strong relationships with internal teams across entities while providing guidance on accounting treatments; your commitment to continuous improvement will drive enhancements in controls and processes leveraging technology solutions. Occasional travel may be required to support month-end close or audit activities abroad.

  • Coordinate the monthly financial close process across all group entities by ensuring timely submissions and resolving outstanding issues that impact quality.
  • Review and validate financial data, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to maintain high standards of accuracy throughout the reporting cycle.
  • Independently prepare quarterly and annual financial statements including all notes and disclosures while maintaining consistency with IFRS-compliant policies.
  • Perform group consolidation for a multi-entity structure by preparing consolidation workings such as intercompany eliminations, reconciliations, adjustments, and foreign currency translation.
  • Own and maintain the Group Chart of Accounts to ensure it remains structured, consistent, aligned with reporting requirements, and updated as business needs evolve.
  • Prepare technical accounting assessments and position papers for key areas including financial instruments, lease accounting, deferred stripping, asset retirement obligations, and structured financing arrangements.
  • Manage day-to-day interactions with external auditors by preparing deliverables, tracking audit progress, responding to queries, and ensuring readiness of documentation.
  • Coordinate intercompany reconciliations across entities to resolve differences promptly while maintaining integrity of balances prior to consolidation.
  • Monitor VAT and Corporate Tax compliance processes within the UAE as well as offshore entities by maintaining trackers and ensuring timely filings.
  • Support monthly management reporting for G&A and corporate functions by ensuring consistency between management reports and financial statements.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Financial Reporting Manager position brings substantial experience from multi-entity organisations where they have managed complex consolidations under IFRS standards. Your academic background in Accounting or Finance equips you with solid fundamentals while professional qualifications like ACA or CPA signal your commitment to ongoing learning. You have demonstrated proficiency in preparing comprehensive financial statements independently—ensuring completeness down to every note—and possess hands-on expertise dealing with intricate loan instruments or structured financing arrangements. Your previous roles have required you to manage audits efficiently through clear communication channels; you are adept at resolving reconciliation differences swiftly across entities. A background in industrial or extractive industries would further strengthen your application but is not essential; what matters most is your analytical approach towards risk detection coupled with an ability to design robust controls that improve data reliability. Your interpersonal skills shine when collaborating with cross-functional teams—guiding them on best practices—and your dedication drives continuous process optimisation leveraging technology solutions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field is essential for this role as it forms the foundation of your technical expertise.
  • Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA or CA (or equivalent) is preferred as it demonstrates advanced knowledge in accounting principles.
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in financial reporting or audit roles within multi-entity environments will enable you to handle complex structures confidently.
  • Ideally TOP10 trained audit experience- highlighting a strong technical foundation.
  • Strong exposure to IFRS standards combined with proven ability in preparing detailed financial statements ensures compliance across all entities.
  • Experience handling complex financial instruments including loan accounting is highly desirable as it adds depth to your technical skillset.
  • Background in industrial or extractive industries is advantageous but not mandatory; familiarity with sector-specific challenges can enhance your effectiveness.
  • Hands-on capability in group consolidation processes coupled with high attention to detail supports accurate reporting outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines while maintaining structured documentation reflects your dependability and organisational skills.
  • Effective communication skills allow you to coordinate seamlessly with internal teams as well as external auditors during critical periods.
  • Analytical mindset paired with problem-solving abilities helps you proactively detect risks in reporting processes and implement improvements.
