Accountant - GL & Financial Accounting

This position will own month-end close, reconciliations, statutory reporting, fixed assets, intercompany accounting, VAT and process improvement across a scaling multi-entity finance function. We are partnering with a fast-growing technology-focused organisation seeking a Senior Accountant – GL & Financial Accounting to join its finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance professional to take ownership of core accounting, month-end close, reconciliations and financial reporting across a growing multi-entity environment. The business is scaling quickly and requires someone comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving finance function where processes, systems and controls are still being developed.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, supporting statutory reporting, improving financial controls and helping build scalable accounting processes as the organisation continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
• Own and execute month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and reporting packs
• Maintain the accuracy, completeness and integrity of the general ledger across multiple entities
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis and supporting schedules
• Support the preparation of statutory financial statements in line with IFRS and local regulatory requirements
• Ensure alignment between management reporting and statutory financial reporting
• Manage fixed asset and intangible asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation and amortization
• Maintain asset registers and support accounting for capital work in progress
• Support accounting for inventory, cost tracking and allocation where relevant
• Manage intercompany accounting, reconciliations and settlement processes across multiple entities
• Prepare and file VAT returns, ensuring accurate VAT treatment and supporting documentation
• Assist with corporate tax compliance and tax audit requirements
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors, preparing audit schedules and resolving queries
• Support bank reconciliations, cash monitoring and treasury coordination
• Ensure compliance with finance policies, delegation of authority and internal control requirements
• Identify opportunities to improve close timelines, reconciliations, data quality and reporting processes
• Support ERP improvements, automation initiatives and the transition toward stronger systems and controls
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• 3–7 years’ experience in financial accounting, GL accounting, reporting or audit-backed finance roles
• Strong understanding of IFRS and core accounting principles
• Hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, accruals and reconciliations
• Experience working across multiple entities or complex group structures is highly desirable
• Exposure to fixed assets, capitalization, amortization, inventory or intercompany accounting would be advantageous
• Experience in a high-growth, evolving or partially automated finance environment is preferred
• Strong Excel skills and good ERP exposure, ideally SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or similar
• Strong attention to detail, ownership mindset and ability to work with limited structure
• Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with internal stakeholders and auditors
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA or CIMA is a MUST!
