Finance Specialist (UAEN/Arabic-speaking)

We have partnered with a client in the utilities sector who are looking to appoint a Finance Specialist (UAEN/Arabic-speaking) to be based at their office in KEZAD, Abu Dhabi. The organisation is part of a billion-dollar joint venture between leading utilities and investment organisations, established to support the UAE’s national agenda and accelerate the development of renewable energy.

What you'll do:

As a Finance Specialist, you will be entrusted with overseeing critical aspects of accounting and finance within a dynamic organisation. Your daily responsibilities will involve collaborating closely with senior management to ensure robust financial planning aligned with strategic goals. You will facilitate communication between stakeholders by preparing comprehensive reports for internal and external audiences. Your attention to detail will be essential as you execute closing activities on a regular basis while maintaining meticulous records of all transactions. You will also play a key role in managing treasury operations—ensuring efficient fund movements—and supporting audit processes across multiple entities. By recommending improvements in accounting procedures according to international best practices, you will help drive operational excellence. Success in this role requires not only technical proficiency but also strong interpersonal skills that enable effective collaboration across departments.

• Manage the financial planning and budgeting process for the organisation by aligning strategies with commercial contracts while considering operational and financial performance targets.
• Support the Chief Financial Officer in handling relationships with insurers by coordinating policy updates, renewals, and coverage requirements as needed.
• Assist in managing banking relationships by implementing extensions or renewals of existing financing facilities to ensure optimal financial support.
• Maintain the financial model by running scenario and sensitivity analyses as well as evaluating investment efficiency parameters to inform business decisions.
• Ensure timely submission of accurate financial information to tax advisors, external auditors, shareholders, corporate teams, CEO, CFO, and for all statutory filings.
• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities proactively while adhering strictly to established timelines.
• Perform day-to-day accounting activities to maintain precise books of accounts that reflect up-to-date financial transactions.
• Review the general ledger on a monthly basis to verify accuracy of postings and assess Balance Sheet Integrity schedules prepared by the Accountant.
• Coordinate with the CFO to resolve complex accounting issues under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and applicable local laws.
• Manage treasury operations including fund placements or movements, debt servicing, dividend payments, cash flow projections, liaising with banks for smooth operations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field is required; Master’s degree is preferred for advanced expertise.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent demonstrates your commitment to high standards.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial planning & analysis, budgeting, and reporting ensures you bring depth of knowledge.
• Strong understanding of IFRS standards along with local tax regulations guarantees compliance across all functions.
• Hands-on experience managing treasury operations as well as conducting internal and external audits reflects your practical skillset.
• Proven ability to prepare and present detailed financial reports for senior management and shareholders highlights your communication strengths.
• Advanced proficiency in ERP/accounting systems coupled with expert-level Excel modelling skills supports efficient data analysis.
• Expertise in Balance Sheet Integrity practice ensures accuracy throughout all reporting cycles.
• Competence using MS Excel, MS PowerPoint & Think-Cell enables you to deliver clear presentations and analyses.
