VP, Mergers and Acquisitions

My client is an international trading company, building out its corporate development function to support its next phase of growth.

The role of VP, Mergers and Acquisitions, is a senior, in-house, leadership role with a financial services focus within the oil and gas trading sector, with full ownership of the M&A and investment agenda (new team).

Key scope:

1) Design & execute the company's investment strategy across the energy sector - including new market entry, capability acquisition & partnerships.

2) Manage the full deal lifecycle from origination to post-merger integration

3) Lead the M&A team, including the Manager and Analyst.

Example deals could include acquisitions of storage, terminals, or refineries.

Key skills for VP, Mergers and Acquisitions: Financial modelling, valuations, forecasting, investment analysis, preparation of clear, evidence-based investment recommendations, assessment of financial impact of transactions, building relationships with banks, advisors, PE funds, target companies & potential partners; presenting business cases to CEO, CFO, Trading & Sales leadership, and Investment Counsel.
