Strategy Associate

A leading Sharia-compliant digital challenger bank is seeking a Strategy Associate to support the bank's Head of Strategy and Transformation in both scoping and executing against a range of new initiatives.

This role is part EA/junior Chief of Staff and part Strategy Manager. A results-oriented individual should expect to be put through their paces in a critical role that will not be nine-to-five.

Fintech experience from the USA, Europe, UK or UAE will be most preferred, although personality is key.

Key skills for Strategy Associate, Abu Dhabi

1) Excellent Excel skills for analysis

2) Excellent presentation skills (both creation of presentations in PowerPoint and the ability to deliver them

3) Able to engage with very senior stakeholders within the bank

4) Able to act as the face/representative for the Head of Strategy & Transformation, making decisions as a proxy and speaking at that level, freeing up bandwidth for the Head of Strategy

5) Strong research and analytical capabilities required

Background:

Open to candidates with a range of backgrounds: Fintech, digital banking, or experience as an Analyst in Private Equity, Venture Capital, Investment Banking or Investment Management is preferred. Strong candidates from family offices may also be considered.

Candidates from large retail or corporate banks, or Big 4 management consultancies without extensive financial services or banking experience are not preferred for this role, although strategy consultancy candidates who have had strong financial services exposure may be considered.

N.B. Please note that academic background, especially university, will be a key consideration for this Strategy Associate role. Candidates from top-tier global universities and leading investment banks such as Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Citibank and CICC will be most preferred.
