Technical Project Manager – Secure Systems Lab

We are looking for a Project Manager to join a leading Secure Systems Research environment in Abu Dhabi. This is a varied role combining project management, laboratory operations, technical coordination and business operations. You will act as an operational anchor within the lab environment, working closely with engineering and research teams as well as internal functions including IT, Finance, Procurement, HR, Legal and Facilities.

The Role

You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the research labs while supporting the delivery of technical projects and operational initiatives.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Coordinate day-to-day lab operations and project activities, ensuring teams have the resources and support required to deliver their work.
• Act as a key liaison between research and engineering teams and internal functions including IT, Finance, Procurement, HR, Legal and Facilities.
• Support laboratory IT systems, development environments and technical infrastructure.
• Manage laboratory assets, inventory, equipment, documentation and SOPs.
• Coordinate facilities, logistics, IT and other operational requirements across the lab environment.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, expense tracking and financial reporting for lab projects.
• Coordinate purchasing and procurement activities, including PRs, POs, vendors and contracts where required.
• Manage the operational readiness of mobile labs, vehicles and testing equipment, including maintenance, servicing and inspections.
• Support field operations and troubleshooting to minimise downtime and ensure testing environments are ready for deployment.
• Develop and improve operational processes to increase efficiency and ensure compliance with internal policies and governance requirements.
• Lead 5S certification activities across SSRC laboratories.
• Coordinate regulatory approvals for field testing, including MOIAT and TDRA approvals.
• Maintain accurate documentation and support internal and external audits.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows and overall operational efficiency.

About You

You will ideally have:

• 4+ years' experience in project management, lab operations, technical operations or a similar environment.
• Experience working within a technical, engineering, research or laboratory environment.
• Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing multiple projects, workflows and priorities simultaneously.
• Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting and expense management.
• Experience managing assets, inventory, facilities or operational environments.
• Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with SAP S/4HANA and SAP Ariba would be advantageous.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for reporting and data analysis.
• Exposure to regulatory approvals, compliance or audit environments would be beneficial.
• A proactive, hands-on and collaborative approach with a strong can-do mindset.

Education & Certifications

A Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or a relevant discipline is required.
