Head of Patents

An established international legal practice with a longstanding Middle East presence is seeking a senior Intellectual Property lawyer to lead and further develop its regional IP offering from Dubai. This is a strategic leadership opportunity for an experienced practitioner with strong technical and commercial capability across patents, innovation, technology and broader intellectual property matters.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

• Lead and expand a regional IP and innovation practice
• Advise multinational and regional clients on complex patent and IP matters
• Support contentious and non-contentious IP mandates across multiple jurisdictions
• Work closely with corporate, technology, life sciences and regulatory teams
• Contribute to client development and regional growth initiatives
• Mentor and help develop junior lawyers and legal professionals

Candidate Profile

• Qualified lawyer and/or registered patent practitioner in a major jurisdiction
• Significant experience within a respected international or specialist IP practice
• Strong exposure to patents, innovation strategy, technology and cross-border IP advisory work
• Existing client relationships and business development capability advantageous
• Prior Middle East experience beneficial but not essential
