What you'll do:

As a Senior Purchaser based in Abu Dhabi, you will play an integral role in strengthening procurement practices across global aquaculture projects. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve leading complex purchasing activities that require careful planning, execution, and stakeholder engagement. You will manage supplier relationships through negotiation, qualification processes, performance monitoring, and strategic dialogue. Ensuring compliance is paramount; you will maintain documentation quality for audit readiness while proactively identifying risks within the supply chain. Your commitment to continuous improvement will see you standardising processes and sharing knowledge with team members through onboarding and mentoring. By collaborating with international colleagues from various regions, you will help implement global procurement strategies that drive organisational success. Your efforts will contribute directly to fostering a culture of teamwork, inclusivity, quality assurance, and professional development within the procurement function.

  • Lead and execute procurement activities for complex, high-value or multi-regional projects and procurement packages in accordance with global standards and specific project requirements.
  • Drive procurement planning and execution by prioritising tasks, following up on activities, tracking progress meticulously, and providing clear stakeholder reporting throughout each stage.
  • Take ownership of supplier management within your assigned scope by conducting sourcing activities, negotiating terms, performing due diligence and qualification processes, monitoring performance, and engaging in strategic supplier dialogue.
  • Ensure robust governance and compliance across all procurement activities by maintaining high documentation quality and audit readiness at all times.
  • Proactively identify potential risks within procurement and supply chain operations while contributing to comprehensive KPI reporting for ongoing risk mitigation.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and standardisation of processes, tools, and ways of working by sharing best practices and supporting team development through onboarding, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing.

With over five years’ experience in similar roles, you have demonstrated your capacity for handling high-value projects requiring meticulous planning and execution. Your familiarity with legal frameworks ensures compliance across all purchasing operations. You possess strong interpersonal skills that enable you to communicate effectively with stakeholders from different cultural backgrounds. Analytical thinking allows you to evaluate supplier performance critically while negotiation expertise helps secure optimal outcomes for the organisation. International exposure further enhances your adaptability when working alongside colleagues from various regions.

  • Relevant higher education preferably within supply chain management, procurement or engineering which equips you with foundational knowledge for this role.
  • At least five years’ experience in procurement or supply chain roles demonstrating your ability to handle complex purchasing activities effectively.
  • Comprehensive understanding of key legal and compliance requirements such as Transparency Act regulations, due diligence procedures, anti-corruption measures, and trade rules.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills enabling you to secure favourable terms while maintaining positive supplier relationships.
  • Analytical abilities that allow you to assess data accurately for informed decision-making throughout the procurement process.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written which facilitate clear stakeholder reporting as well as effective collaboration across multicultural teams.
