  • Influence key decisions within a project-driven organisation that values transparency, quality standards, and compliance across all procurement activities.

What you'll do:

As a Purchaser in this global aquaculture technology company based in Abu Dhabi, you will play a pivotal role in executing procurement activities across multiple projects and categories. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve maintaining robust procurement plans using transparent reporting tools; following up on purchase orders from initial placement through final delivery; coordinating logistics for goods both locally and internationally; ensuring strict compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements; assisting sales and tender teams with supplier offers; booking logistics for cross-border shipments; collaborating with international colleagues; monitoring supplier performance; supporting internal audits; and contributing to professional development seminars. Success in this role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, proactive communication with stakeholders across different countries, and a commitment to upholding quality standards at every stage of the procurement process.

  • Execute procurement activities for assigned projects and categories by ensuring alignment with project requirements, budgets, and schedules while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Maintain and follow up on procurement plans using reporting and tracking tools to ensure transparency and effective progress control throughout each project lifecycle.
  • Follow up purchase orders from order placement through final delivery of products or services by coordinating expediting efforts, logistics arrangements, and invoice control.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures as well as relevant regulations by conducting supplier due diligence and adhering to Transparency Act requirements.
  • Assist sales and tender teams by providing supplier offers, lead times, and procurement input necessary for accurate tender calculations.
  • Book and coordinate logistics of goods from suppliers to construction sites, warehouses, or other delivery points including cross-border shipments where applicable.
  • Collaborate closely with international teams to share best practices in procurement processes while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor supplier performance against contractual obligations to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Support internal audits related to procurement activities by preparing documentation and responding to queries regarding compliance.

What you bring:

Your educational background—preferably in supply chain management, procurement or engineering—provides you with the technical foundation needed for success. You have spent 2-3 years managing purchasing activities where your negotiation skills have helped secure optimal pricing without compromising quality. Your familiarity with reporting tools helps maintain transparency throughout each project’s lifecycle. Above all else, your commitment to continuous learning means you actively seek out opportunities for professional development within supportive environments.

  • Relevant higher education preferably within supply chain management, procurement or engineering which equips you with foundational knowledge for this role.
  • 2-3+ years’ experience in procurement or supply chain operations demonstrating your ability to manage complex purchasing activities effectively.
  • Strong negotiation skills enabling you to secure favourable terms while maintaining positive relationships with suppliers.
  • Analytic abilities that allow you to assess supplier offers critically and contribute valuable input during tender calculations.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written in English so you can interact confidently with international teams and suppliers.
  • Experience coordinating logistics including cross-border shipments which ensures timely delivery of goods to various locations.
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements such as supplier due diligence processes and relevant regulations like the Transparency Act.
