A leading organisation in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Power Asset Manager to oversee and optimise the non-development CAPEX and OPEX investment portfolio for its power transmission network. This pivotal role offers you the opportunity to shape asset strategy and performance across transformers, switchgear, cables, overhead lines, and other primary plant, ensuring risk-based, technically justified interventions that align with both organisational and regulatory requirements. You will be at the heart of business case governance, translating asset condition and network risk into executable investment plans while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. The organisation values diversity, equity, and inclusion, providing a supportive environment where your expertise in asset management and investment planning will drive operational excellence. Flexible working opportunities, generous pension contributions, and ongoing training are part of the commitment to your professional growth.
- You will lead the optimisation of a complex power transmission asset portfolio, ensuring interventions are risk-based and technically justified to maximise value under business constraints.
- You will play a key role in business case governance, overseeing project initiation, gate progression, completion monitoring, and regulatory compliance for all non-development investments.
- You will benefit from flexible working opportunities, generous pension contributions, and access to continuous training programmes designed to enhance your skills and support your career advancement.
What you'll do:
As a Power Asset Manager you will be entrusted with managing a diverse portfolio of power transmission assets. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve strategic oversight of investment proposals—ensuring each intervention is aligned with asset condition assessments and network risk profiles. You will guide business case development through established governance frameworks like APM and AIP while maintaining rigorous compliance standards. By coordinating closely with multiple departments including Operations & Maintenance (O&M), Projects, System Operations, Finance and Procurement you will ensure seamless integration of investment timing with operational needs. Your stewardship of data quality across key systems will underpin effective decision-making processes. Success in this role requires you to monitor project progress meticulously—from initiation through completion—confirming that technical objectives are met while capturing valuable lessons for future improvements. Regulatory engagement forms an important aspect of your remit; you’ll provide robust justifications for proposals ensuring adherence to statutory requirements. Your leadership extends beyond process management: you’ll nurture team capability in investment modelling digital tools fostering a culture of continuous improvement within asset management practices.
- Manage and optimise the non-development CAPEX and OPEX investment portfolio for the power transmission network by prioritising lifecycle-aligned interventions across various assets including transformers, switchgear/relays, cables, overhead lines, and other primary plant.
- Lead portfolio governance for non-development investments by collecting, assessing, prioritising, and approving proposals while developing Project Proposals such as Needs Statements and Project Charters.
- Own business case development and approval using APM and AIP systems with inputs from Maximo and delivery controls in P6 to ensure robust scope definition, costings, risk insights, and compliance with internal processes as well as regulatory expectations.
- Oversee stage-gate progression from initiation through approval to completion by reporting gate status, risks, variances; ensuring funded projects are handed over to implementing divisions for delivery according to approved investment intent.
