What you'll do:
As Project Director in Saudi Arabia you will play a pivotal role in delivering complex construction or fit-out projects from inception through completion. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve guiding multi-disciplinary teams towards achieving programme targets while upholding rigorous standards for quality assurance and health & safety compliance. You will collaborate closely with procurement specialists to optimise supplier negotiations and resource allocation. By leading regular review meetings you will ensure that all aspects of the project remain on track—identifying risks early on and implementing mitigation strategies promptly. Your focus on technical oversight will extend across design coordination through commissioning; you’ll assess installation quality via site inspections while fostering a culture of continuous improvement among team members. Building strong relationships with clients as well as suppliers is essential for driving efficiency throughout the supply chain. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of local regulations combined with an ability to motivate teams toward shared goals.
- Provide strategic direction and guidance to project teams throughout all phases of large-scale construction or fit-out projects, ensuring alignment with programme, budget, quality standards, health and safety requirements, client expectations, and regulatory obligations.
- Oversee the implementation and audit of all stages of the project process including reporting, ensuring materials, finishes, systems, and construction methods are reviewed and approved according to specifications and local authority requirements.
- Work collaboratively with procurement teams to supervise procurement activities, support negotiations with suppliers, and secure best value for money while maintaining compliance with project specifications.
- Lead regular project review meetings and actively participate in Monthly Project Review sessions to monitor progress against deliverables and initiate corrective measures when necessary.
- Plan and manage resources required for competent supervision, project management, subcontractor coordination, and installation labour to meet programme milestones and quality benchmarks.
- Evaluate project risks comprehensively and develop robust mitigation plans while providing strategic guidance to teams on safety implications of cost decisions.
- Ensure technical oversight across design coordination, procurement processes, commercial controls, quality assurance protocols, health and safety standards, site execution activities, commissioning procedures, and handover requirements.
- Assess installation quality by reviewing site readiness, identifying coordination gaps, overseeing mock-ups and inspections, and verifying testing requirements to guarantee works are delivered right first time.
- Develop well-motivated project teams by monitoring personnel performance against defined responsibilities through regular reviews and implementing actions for improvement where needed.
- Maintain effective communication with clients to ensure satisfaction at every stage of the project lifecycle while developing successful relationships with major suppliers and subcontractors for improved efficiency.
